Chapford Capital Group
Adam Balinsky is the Co-Founder and President of Chapford Capital Group. He is also the President of Fifth Season Financial, L.P., the lending originator for Chapford.
Prior to Chapford, Adam was President of Caldwell Life Strategies Corporation, a Plainfield Asset Management portfolio company and immediately prior was Senior Vice President of Business Development and House Counsel for Caldwell. At its peak, the Caldwell portfolio had over $275 million of invested capital. In addition to directly investing in life insurance policy assets, Caldwell provided credit facilities to five separate third-party borrowers to support their life insurance investment strategies, each in the $10-15 million range. Adam was responsible for sourcing and managing credit transactions in addition to locating leverage for the Caldwell portfolio.
Earlier in his career, Adam Practiced law for 11 years at Baker & McKenzie LLP where he became a Partner in 2005. He led and managed a multi-disciplinary team of lawyers in the structuring and implementation of complex cross-border life insurance settlement and longevity arbitrage related transactions representing fund initiators, lenders, trustees, life settlement providers and service providers. He has represented many clients as either lenders or borrowers in negotiating, structuring and implementing credit facilities.
Adam graduated from McGill University with a Bachelors of Commerce. He also holds a joint MBA/JD from the University of Toronto. He is admitted to the Law Society of Ontario and is a member of the American Bar Association.
